About Me

I’m Jake Ferguson, a Grammy-nominated mixing and recording engineer from Memphis, TN. I got my start in the studios and stages that shaped the city’s identity—places where soul, blues, and rock ’n’ roll aren’t just genres but part of everyday life.

I spent several years in New York working as a studio engineer with Mark Ronson, collaborating closely with him in his personal studio. During that time, I contributed to a variety of major projects, including work on the Barbie film and soundtrack, Lizzo’s “Break Up Twice” on the Grammy-nominated Album of the Year Special, Daniel Caesar’s “Pain Is Inevitable,” and Jon Batiste’s “Life Lessons.” My work spanned engineering sessions, building mix-ready production sessions, and supporting arrangement and vocal development as songs evolved. Those years shaped my approach to high-level record-making—balancing instinct, technical detail, and artistic trust.

In 2024, I returned home to Memphis. Since then, I’ve had the chance to work with Scott Bomar as a Recording Engineer and Score Mixing Engineer on the TV series Fight Night and the feature film Song Sung Blue. Coming back to Memphis has reconnected me with the sound and community that first inspired me to pursue this work.

Across every project—whether it’s a record, a score, or a mix—my goal is simple: serve the song and make the artist feel heard. I’m drawn to the texture, emotion, and storytelling that great music carries, and I approach engineering as a way to bring those elements forward without getting in their way.
